Independent internal assurance

In 2016, we further strengthened our internal procedures to monitor compliance with the Sustainability Risk Framework. This is now part of the remit of Group Internal Audit (GIA), an independent body whose responsibility is to ensure that internal control processes and risk management are operating effectively.
