Technology continues to throw curves at the automotive sector. Increasing adoption of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) is making transportation of goods and people safer, with fewer accidents taking place.
Driving transformation
According to the World Health Organization, diabetes claims the lives of 1.6 million people every year. Of the estimated 422 million adults affected by the disease, 60 percent reside in Asia, where diet and lifestyle changes brought on by booming economies have contributed to a surge in diagnoses.
Enabling positive lives
A recent United Nations report found that 40 percent of the world’s population lives within 100 kilometres of a coast. This trend is expected to continue, with populations and commercial assets further concentrating in waterfront communities. At the same time, climate change is intensifying the impact of floods resulting from hurricanes and storm surges, directly threatening the social, economic and cultural security of a growing part of the world’s population.
