Career

Malcolm D. Knight began his career as an academic at the University of Toronto and the London School of Economics. In 1975, he joined the International Monetary Fund, holding senior positions in both research and operations until 1999. From 1999 to 2003, he was Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada and from 2003 to 2008 he was General Manager (CEO) of the Bank for International Settlements. He was Vice Chairman of Deutsche Bank from 2008 to 2012, where he is now an Advisor. He was elected to Swiss Re’s Board of Directors in 2010 and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Investment Committee.
